Changing the climate

A catchy song with a warm and hopeful message side by side with thoughts about the severe situation we are right in. "..we can make a difference. Let's start spreading the words. Life on earth depends on me and you and all of us..."

Changíng the Climate

Music & lyrics, song, guitar, djembe, keyboard, recording & mixing by Thomas Eidrup.
Thanks to Thomas von Kronhelm for great ideas about how to arrange and mix this song. And thanks to all my loved ones for the encouragement :-)

110 bpm

What can we say to our children?
When they ask us what we´ve done?
How we're gonna stand the heavy droughts?
When the sun don´t turn away.

Some get warm, some get cold.
This is what to be told

We´re changing the climate.
We´re changing the whole world.
But we can make a difference.
Let´s start spreading the words!
Life on earth depends on me and you,
and you and me and all of us!
Life on earth depends on me and you,
and you and me and all of us!

How we´re gonna stand the heavy rains?
when the skies just open up.
How we´re gonna live along the coastlines?
When the water´s coming in.

Some get warm, some get cold.
This is what to be told.

We're changing the climate...

Where we gonna get the drinking water?
When the glaciers are all gone.
Where we gonna get the food to eat?
When eco systems are breaking down.

Some get warm, some get cold.
This is what to be told.

We're changing the climate...

    Background:
Hi friend! I've been into music since I was a small kid, playing several instruments and also always been writing own songs. The last 7-8 years I've been singing more frequently as well and also trying to make the music part of my outcome! But let me first tell you a little about the main life path so far. I'm deeply involved in environmental work for the Municipality of Kalmar since over ten years back as an environmental controller. Since 1,5 years back I´ve shifted my position to become a project leader working with environmental and quality management systems, still at the municipality, at part time. On the other part I´ve started my own one man business (www.inspiranova.se) offering two services - environmental consultancy and secondly - inspirational events at conferences, kick offs, customer gatherings etc. Then I sing and play my own songs togeher with some speaking in between. More info here: http://www.thomaseidrup.com/index-filer/inspirational.htm  I live in the town of Kalmar with my wife and two children 5 & 8 years old. It´s great to spend time with the family as well as going outdoors all by myself with my sea kayak on the ever changing surface of the beautiful (but unfortunately threatened) Baltic Sea. I'm more into talk than confrontation. More into seeing things from various perspectives rather than chosing one side for good. More into showing respect than into a more brutal way of communication and relation. What if one of the greatest challenges of life is to try to love, respect and to show each other admiration even more due to our differencies than due to our similarities... (I like writing small sentences like this one.) Take care of yourself and of our amazing, blue pearl in this unimaginable vast space. With love, Thomas
